The South Downs are spectacular, I wish we’d taken it a bit slower and there is nothing to stop me doing it again at a more leisurely pace another time. We travelled from the 24th to 28th September 2018 and the weather was lovely, a bit chilly in the shade and at night but, pretty perfect for cycling.
Our last day was spent cycling along the coast at Eastbourne and then we walked up to look at beach head. I hadn’t slept well and I was aching pretty much everywhere. I think we were both a bit deflated. We had a Polish lunch, mainly because they did soup and then caught the train home. We saw the Long Man of Willmington from the train so we did get to see him eventually.
My thanks to Richard for keeping me company, taking the photos and setting the pace, I feel sure I’d have got to each destination around midnight without you and I definitely could not have lifted that gate!
So where to next and who with?
