So why am I here in Lanzarote? Well mostly thanks to Beckie who dropped out of the trip. (Your name may be mud with the girls, but your my hero Beckie!)
After a few days orientating ourselves we hired a car. With Maria as driver and me navigating we start our tour of the island. We are of course visiting some of the popular sites but, we must seem strange to others, we are as excited by insects and birds as much as the spectactular scenery.
Maria keeps calling me Karen as she thinks I look like Meryl Streep as Karen Blixen in ‘Out of Africa’. (I wish)! Having seen the pictures I have taken with my shadow I think ‘Slenderman’ more apt.
