I’m going to keep yesterday to myself, only because , Ive been on a Lord of the Rings mission for when Lee arrives. I’ll provide a picture as a teaser!
I have finally arrived at Taupo where Lee and I will be based mostly. The apartment, another timeshare swap is lovely. The town is bustling but across the road is the beautiful lake.
So who is Lee?
Well…. Lee is the son of a very….. (I was going to say old but, I may meet with an unfortunate accident if I do) dear friend Linda. I rather lost touch with Linda and hadn’t seen her for about 17 years until last year, when I popped up to Lincolnshire to see her, husband Chris and Lee. I knew Lee last when he was between the age of ten and twenty years.
Anyway on my visit to Lincolnshire, Lee and I got chatting about my travel plans and he expressed a wish to visit New Zealand one day. So I found myself inviting a man I hardly know on holiday with me!!
You cannot imagine the ribbing I got when I told my work colleagues (I was still working then). What was a surprise to me was, the fact they thought this perfectly normal behaviour for me! I dont think I’m quite that impulsive…am I?
Anyway I collect Lee at Auckland tomorrow. I am very excited to have someone to share this adventure with……Lets hope we get along!

Hahahaha 😂😂 you and Lee will get on famously only because he’s as nuts as you! And you have know him since he was about 8 and he’s now 43 🙄 NZ had better be prepared for two LOTR fanatics! You like us are so far removed from “ normal” but that’s what we love about you and despite the fact we haven’t seen each other in 17 years until Jan 2018 we have stayed in contact…just putting it into perspective as people may think we haven’t had contact in all that time…..Hopefully he’ll make it in time to see NZ landmarks as currently flight delayed in Dubai ! Glad you amended the blog to remove the #old bit and we know about amendments while you have been away as there have been many of them🤔🤣🤦♀️…..xx😍
