Clare said goodbye to Kriti and Rajkumar at the Dragon house. I could see Clare was feeling rather sad when we set off for Kathmandhu. We had arranged meet with Rajendra, Shova and their family. We invited them for dinner and found a restaurant not too far away. It was so lovely to see them all and I’m glad they could come. This is a very special family. I can’t tell you how many pictures we took, dozens and dozens. Shova had knitted Clare’s granddaughter a beautiful little dress and couple of things for us too. I had asked Shova to make a few other things too, I’m not telling you what, you might be getting them for Christmas!

It was very sad for them and Clare when it was time to go.
The next day we met up with Sabin again and his beautiful new wife. We took them for lunch. Sabin is going to try for seasonal work in the UK so we may see him in the not too distant future.
Clare’s shopping all done, and after the purchase of a very large Rucksack carrier, (I wish I bought mine here it was a third the price an better quality) it was absolutely stuffed. Clare was getting all hot and bothered with it, the bag wouldn’t close and it looked as though she was trying to smuggle a body in it. Maybe her new son Sabin! I managed to re pack it and get it closed but it was a bit tight.
Finally Clare was officially and miraculously down to two bags although she also had a carrier bag of coats and stuff for the flight. I think that’s the most organised I’ve ever seen her!
We went to have a last beer on the roof top of the hotel where it all began and then watched a movie on my phone (Alison will remember the 6 inch silver screen, hahahaha).
Early next day at the airport we said goodbye.
Feeling very flat and weird in the taxi back to Thamel, I started to cry. The taxi driver was genuinely concerned, I managed to explain in pigeon Nepali what had happened and that it wasn’t serious. When I went to pay him, he refused to take all the money, and I didn’t have any fight in me so how sweet is that! I got his WhatsApp and I might use him in future.
Feeling somewhat better, I treated myself to blue pea tea, and gave half my chicken dinner away to this lovely cat. I wouldn’t touch him of course but, once he was full he sat and looked very adoringly at me.

Anyway I’m all caught up now, heading back to the Dragon house tomorrow, then going into the hills with Kriti.
Hi Debs
Don’t be sad although I understand why…..there have been many moment where your description of Clare and her walking poles had me laughing out loud. She has been really great company for you on this tremendous journey. The families and guides and people you have met are making this a most memorable time in your life that you will never forget. From the couple who offered you their bed and they would sleep on the floor! Gosh how many people would do that here 🤔🤷♀️!! To the family that you have taken out and the taxi driver who would let you pay…….from the guides who have taken care of you to the lady who knitted Clare’s grandchild something.
The views, pictures and information has been so interesting and Chris is determined you should turn it into a travel book! He’s found this blog just as interesting as me. Just make the most of the last few weeks and live every moment and take the time to dance! I always look forward even if somewhat with trepidation as to where you’ll go next and the next blog. Sharing holidays with friends this past year has made me enjoy not being able to do much…so I have Ben in the last year from Mexico to Nepal and various places in between with photo’s that have been sent and I haven’t had to even move from my sofa.
However I must say yours is the only blog and whilst reading it has made me see and view everything as if I have been watching a video. 😍
Love Linda

Thank you Linda, I’m just sat having a beer, chatting to a lovely man Ramesh, the waiter in the hotel. Feeling so much better now. I’m glad you are traveling with me and your other friends too!

Good glad you have cheered up although having read the blogs and the antics Clare has got to be has been most entertaining, so I understand why you would be sad to see her go! Lol bet you didn’t cry when Lee left you in NZ 😂😂😂 can’t believe he’ll be 47 tomorrow. 🤔 can’t believe I was 67 last week and guess what my birthday treat was …don’t laugh , a check up at the hospital post op 😂😂😂. I am definitely travelling with you and look forward as does Chris to reading the next episode….Chris said again to me at lunch that Debbie needs to put that into a book format🙌. Xxxx🍺💖🌹

Ditto Linda’s comments!
A book, even for yourself … however, if you do a photo book, I suspect it may need to be several volumes 😆
